INTERVENTION

People sometimes engage in self-destructive behavior, rejecting any assistance that family, friends or co-workers may offer. Intervention, when done correctly, is extremely effective in helping these people accept help. Long used for alcohol and drug addiction, intervention is now also used for compulsive gambling, internet or computer addiction, eating disorders, and other self-destructive behaviors.
